ELA Container builds a training centre at the Meyer Werft

To be able to withstand the fierce competition in industry, it’s important to have well-trained specialist staff. It’s also important to train and professionally develop this specialist staff – especially when it comes to occupational safety.

This is also the case for Meyer Werft, Europe’s largest shipyard for cruise liners. Before the current COVID-19 pandemic hit, the shipyard had hired more staff and increased the number of shifts. New staff that had to be signed up quickly and instructed in occupational safety for the large output of the shipyard. Because this was supposed to happen as quickly as possible, the shipyard was in need of a fast and reliable solution at short notice.

A problem that ELA Container could solve with its mobile rooms. Just a week after the initial enquiry, a two-storey training centre was built on the Meyer Werft premises in which the new staff could be instructed in safety issues. Large, light rooms make it possible to concentrate on work on the 20 training computers. The registration office was incorporated into the facility with the help of flexible wall units.

“We were happy that we got practical and convenient offices so quickly. This makes our work much easier,” says Irina Sinner, who works at the training centre in the registration office.
