There's no such thing as can't: Michael Rotzinger has internalised this motto in his work as ELA Area Sales Manager. And so a container facility with special architecture was created in Grenzach-Wyhlen. "Normally in multi-storey container systems, the individual modules are placed directly above one another", explains Rotzinger. A circumstance which takes into account the static conditions. "In this case, however, the customer wanted a staggered arrangement of the container rooms on top of each other in order to gain a roof on one side and a roof terrace on the other".

Unusual, but not impossible.

Within a very short time, ELA Container delivered the desired rental unit with 144 square metres of usable space to the German-Swiss border and installed it in a staggered arrangement thanks to intermediate frames. The eight extra-wide premium containers with individual painting in anthracite grey (RAL 7016) were combined on two levels on the long sides. This created three meeting rooms, a kitchen and two sanitary areas on the ground floor. The upper floor is a large room of seventy square metres which functions as a lecture hall. The upper floor can be reached via a galvanised steel external staircase.

Floor-deep plastic turn-tilt windows let in a lot of light and, together with the double glazing, roller shutters and split air conditioning units, ensure a pleasant room climate regardless of the season. "Naturally, the system was ready for occupancy immediately after installation", explains Rotzinger. So ELA equipped the modules with energy-saving LED interior lighting, cable ducts and smoke alarms. In addition, there was a fitted kitchen, entrance platforms, ramps as barrier-free access and the equipment for the sanitary area.

"This project was real teamwork. Thanks to precise agreements with the customer and the high motivation of the ELA team to make the seemingly impossible possible, we were also able to successfully realise this project for Roche Germany", says Rotzinger. The ELA containers are now in use as meeting rooms at the pharmaceutical company for 18 to 24 months.
