Classrooms for school in Diepholz

“It is much more enjoyable to teach in the container classrooms than in the old building.” This was the conclusion of the pupils at the vocational training centre Berufsbildungszentrum Dr. Jürgen Ulderup (BBZ) in Diepholz. They have been attending classes in mobile classrooms from ELA Container for a few months.

As with a lot of schools, almost no changes had been made to the main building of the BBZ since the mid-70s. Alternative classrooms now had to be found for use during upcoming renovations.

Close coordination with client

Working closely with the administrative district of Diepholz, the school and the architect, ELA Container developed a mobile container solution in line with the specifications of the school. “ELA offered extremely helpful and pragmatic suggestions”, acknowledges the architect Rolf Wege. Construction went exactly as planned and ELA was even able to fulfil every individual request regarding fittings and equipment.

Acoustic sails for good room perception

Nine classrooms which can accommodate around 250 pupils were created using 32 ELA premium containers and four ELA quality all-rounders on an area of more than 630 square metres. The rooms are fitted with acoustic panels. “I would personally recommend them to every prospective user as they really contribute to the positive atmosphere in the room”, recommends the architect Wege.

Convincing interim solution

ELA Area Sales Manager Simon Harenkamp and the project manager Kevin Koopmann are happy: “When the pupils like the temporary solution better than the original building, you know you have done everything right.”
